Aliquippa, PA – ARDEX Americas based in Aliquippa, PA and its President & CEO Stephan M. Liozu have assisted in making a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an extremely talented local student come true. Angela Marinkovich, a seventh grade student at Aliquippa High School was nominated to represent Pennsylvania at the 2010-2011 National Young Leaders State Conference (NYLSC).
The NYLSC is an intense four day curriculum sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council. Invitations are offered only to a very select group of high-achieving students. The NYLSC challenges each scholar to step forward with conviction and confidence, to grasp the concepts of leadership and to act upon their dreams of making a difference in their communities. Angela was nominated by her reading teacher, Ms. Tracy Heinlein. She was nominated based on her impressive academic record, personal maturity and leadership skills.
Given today’s tough economy, the costs associated with attending this prestigious event have been a deterrent for Angela. Upon hearing about this, ARDEX Americas President & CEO, Stephan M. Liozu acted immediately by providing a corporate sponsorship of $750 and adding a personal contribution of $250 which equaled more than half of the costs required for Angela to attend the NYLSC.
“The children are our future! When an extraordinary individual like Angela is presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity like the NYLSC, financial considerations should not be the deciding factor in her participation,” stated Stephan M. Liozu, President & CEO, ARDEX Americas. “The ARDEX Mission is grounded in a commitment to excellence in all that we do. This includes supporting and mentoring excellence in the communities where we do business. Angela is a special individual with outstanding talents and potential. We at ARDEX are proud to support her at the NYLSC and wish her the very best as she grows into an outstanding leader for our community and country. We encourage other area businesses to support Angela in her efforts to attend this important conference.”
