Technical Data ARDEX PC FINISH™
Installation
Prior to the installation of ARDEX PC FINISH, clean the ARDEX PC-T, ARDEX K 520, ARDEX K 521, concrete topping or concrete surface using a clean, dry dust mop or micro-fiber mop. Vacuum as needed. Wet cleaning is not recommended, as it may contribute to surface staining.
Apply ARDEX PC FINISH using a clean, pre-dampened microfiber pad and applicator. Apply at a rate of 2500 sq. ft. / gallon (61.4 sq. m / L) depending on surface profile. Spread material thinly and evenly, completely covering the surface and apply in small sections at a time. DO NOT OVER APPLY.
Allow to dry for 30 minutes. Burnish or micro-polish using a high-speed burnisher or swing buffer with diamond-impregnated pads to cure the ARDEX PC FINISH, and to ensure an aesthetic finish. A minimum of two coats of ARDEX PC FINISH is required. Apply each coat thinly and evenly. Do not over apply. Allow each coat to dry at least 30 – 60 minutes before burnishing and applying the next coat. Please note that each coat must be burnished to a surface temperature of 110°F (43°C) in order to heat set the ARDEX PC FINISH. It is critical to apply very thin, multiple coats. Thick applications may cure improperly, discolor, whiten or leave streaks and applicator marks.
DO NOT clean or scrub the surface for at least 72 hours. Quickly clean up spills.
IMPORTANT: Avoid moisture, cleaning and scrubbing for 72 hours. Do not allow standing water or liquids on the surface. Do not cover with protective plastic sheeting, mats, rugs, or furniture that can prevent proper drying. Covering the surface can retard curing and result in a cloudy or whitening effect. Light pedestrian use may occur after 24 hours. Maximum performance may take up to 14 days to develop, depending on temperature and humidity.
ARDEX Polished Concrete Systems™ (APCS) are not recommended for use in commercial kitchens, bathrooms, exterior spaces, heavy commercial projects such as sports arenas and shopping mall common areas, industrial projects with constant fork-lift traffic or any environment with chemical staining agents or potential long-term water exposure.
