LA Hall of Justice
The Los Angeles Hall of Justice was built in 1925. County residents and the buildings’ tenants desired a historical renovation to maintain the integrity of the landmark. After an earthquake in 1994, the building was closed because of safety and health risks. It was essential that renovation plans include seismic retrofitting to comply with earthquake standards and codes. The scope of work included structural demolition of some floors, retrofitting of structural and non-structural elements to meet current seismic performance requirements and several tenant improvements.
